Disability and Rehabilitation
Women in industrialized countries have narrowed the gender gap in life expectancy and at the present living longer than men, in a number of areas of health they experience earlier and more severe disease with poorer outcomes. Gender remainders a main social determinant of health, since women's health is influenced not just by their biology but also by circumstances such as poverty, employment, and family responsibilities. While the amounts of the leading causes of expiry, cardiovascular disease, cancer and lung disease, are similar in women and men, women have different experiences. Lung cancer has reached all other types of cancer as the leading cause of cancer death in women, followed by breast cancer, colorectal, ovarian, uterine and cervical cancers. Supplementary main health problems for women have cardiovascular disease, depression, dementia, osteoporosis and anemia.
